Biography
Tsai-Tien Tseng completed his Ph.D. dissertation, titled "Molecular Archeology of Voltage-gated Ion Channels," at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His Ph.D. work focused on the molecular phylogeny of the Voltage-gated Ion Channel (VIC) superfamily and various auxiliary subunits. He received the Molecular Biophysics Training Grant from the National Institute of Health for his dissertation work.
Research Interest
Tsai-Tien is interested in the molecular evolution and classification of various membrane transporter families and superfamilies. He has previously characterized the Major Facilitator Superfamily (MFS) and the Resistance-Nodulation-Cell Division (RND) superfamily. His work also included literature-based bacterial genome annotation using Gene Ontology terms.
