Directions

Directions to The School of Biology (Cherry Emerson Building) can be located on the center block of this map. It is building #66 near the top right of the block.

Driving from Hartsfield International Airport (south of downtown):

1. Take I-75 / I-85 North to Exit 250 (10th Street / 14th Street / Ga Tech)
2. Turn left onto 10th Street.
3. Turn left at the 3rd traffic light onto Atlantic Drive (Campus Entrance). 4. The School of Biology (Cherry Emerson Building) is at the next traffic light at the southeast corner of the intersection of Atlantic Drive and Ferst Drive (on the other side of the intersection on the left).
5. Visitor parking ($5.00/day) is on the other side of the intersection on the right. Turn right on Ferst Drive, left at the next stop sign, and left into the visitor lot.

Taking MARTA subway:

1. Get off at the Midtown Station.
2. Georgia Tech's private Stinger bus runs every 15- 20 minutes between the Midtown station and east campus from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM. The bus will be designated "MARTA / R Lot Loop".
3. Get off the bus on campus at the intersection of Fowler Street and Fifth Street (because the bus route varies depending on the time of day, ask the driver for assistance in getting to Ferst Drive and Plum Street).
4. From Fowler and Fifth Streets, you may either walk west, away from the Interstate highway, 2 blocks to the Cherry Emerson Building / School of Biology at the corner of Ferst Drive and Plum Street, or you may catch the South Campus Loop bus.

Driving from north of downtown:

1. From I-75 South take Exit 250 or from I-85 South take Exit 84 (Techwood Drive / 10th Street / 14th Street).
2. Go through the first traffic light at 14th Street, then get in the right lane.
3. At the next stop sign, turn right onto 10th Street.
4. Turn left at the 2nd traffic light onto Atlantic Drive (Campus Entrance).
5. The School of Biology (Cherry Emerson Building) is at the next traffic light at the southeast corner of the intersection of Atlantic Drive and Ferst Drive (on the other side of the intersection on the left).
6. Visitor parking ($5.00/day) is on the other side of the intersection on the right. Turn right on Ferst Drive, left at the next stop sign, and left into the visitor lot.

Walking onto campus:

1. The School of Biology (Cherry Emerson Building) is located on Ferst Drive between Atlantic Drive and Plum Street. Ferst Drive is an extension of 5th Street which crosses the interstate highway and enters campus on the east side. Atlantic Drive enters campus from 10th Street on the north side.
2. If you're coming from North Avenue on the south edge of campus, take Techwood Drive north onto campus about 3 blocks to the intersection with 5th Street and turn left. We're about 3 blocks on the left.
3. It is a 3 story brick and glass building surrounded on all sides by Magnolia trees. It is directly across Ferst Drive from the large, new brick and glass Institute for Bioengineering and Biosciences.
