Social Behavior Symposium to be held at Tech
Atlanta (September 2, 2009) — A symposium entitled “Microbes to Metazoans: Regulation, Dynamics, and Evolution of Social Behavior” will be held on Georgia Tech’s campus from December 2-4, 2009. The workshop is sponsored by Georgia Tech’s Integrated BioSystems Institute and the College of Sciences, and by the National Science Foundation. The organizers of the event are School of Biology faculty members Brian Hammer, Joshua Weitz, and Michael Goodisman. The goal of this intimate two and half day workshop will be to discuss and develop new experimental, theoretical, and computational tools to bridge multiple disciplines in the study of group tasks orchestrated by organisms from microbes to metazoans. There is no cost for registration, and applications for participation in the workshop are being accepted until September 25th. Please visit the symposium website for the list of outstanding speakers participating in the event and for contact information.
