Research
Research in the School of Biology is generally integrative, but with three general areas of research focus: ecology, evolution, and behavior; molecular and cell biology; and computational biology and bioinformatics. Research interests of the molecular and cell biology faculty include cell biology, molecular genetics, molecular physiology, molecular biophysics, and nanobiology.
Faculty in the School of Biology are leaders in several cross-departmental programs, such as environmental systems microbiology and computational biology and bioinformatics. These cross-departmental programs facilitate the integration of various areas of modern biology with existing strengths at Georgia Tech in engineering and computer science.
