Study Abroad / International Plan

The Georgia Tech Biology undergraduate program enables you to easily incorporate international studies into your curriculum. You can study abroad with School of Biology faculty in Australia, New Zealand, Costa Rica, or Spain, or attend one of our partner institutions around the globe. Options include traditional summer study abroad programs lead by Georga Tech faculty as well as semester long programs. Additional opportunities to study biology abroad can be found through other programs. Discuss your study abroad plans with Associate Chair Dr. Julia Kubanek BEFORE you signup for any non-Georgia Tech program.

The most intensive program of international study is the International Plan, which distinguishes Georgia Tech as a recognized leader in international studies. The International Plan is a coherent, degree-long program of study integrated into the major. It enables students to develop international competence at a professional level so that they can effectively compete in a global marketplace. The Biology program has integrated international studies, language acquisition, and overseas experience into a traditional Bachelor of Science degree. This curriculum can be completed in four years according to this example schedule. Upon completing the International Plan, your diploma and transcript will state “Bachelor of Science with international Plan”. Significant international studies can differentiate your resume from a crowd competing for positions in industry, academia, or medical school.
